Old Fourth Ward / BeltLine
Vibrant neighbourhood centred on Atlanta's famous BeltLine trail. Restaurants, bars and murals all within walking distance. Good MARTA connection to the stadium via North Avenue.
Best atmosphere
Buckhead
Upscale and safe neighbourhood with luxury hotels and high-end dining. MARTA Red and Gold lines connect directly downtown. Good for fans wanting comfort over convenience.

Downtown and Midtown hotels are charging $400-600+ per night during match periods. Book as early as possible with free cancellation. Furnished apartments via Airbnb or similar can be better value for multi-match stays.
Local tips for Atlanta
MARTA is the best way to the stadium
Take MARTA Blue or Green line to GWCC/CNN Center station or Vine City station — both are a short walk to Mercedes-Benz Stadium. MARTA also runs directly from Hartsfield-Jackson Airport making it easy to arrive and head straight to the match. Skip the car entirely on match days.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium has a retractable roof and AC
Unlike many other US host venues, Mercedes-Benz Stadium has a retractable roof and air conditioning. Atlanta in June and July can exceed 35°C with high humidity. The stadium itself will be comfortable but getting there and from there will be hot and humid.
Extreme heat and humidity outside the stadium
Atlanta summers are hot and very humid. Outside the stadium expect 33-37°C with high humidity that makes it feel hotter. Drink water constantly, dress in light breathable clothing and use sunscreen for any outdoor activities.
Fan Festival at Centennial Olympic Park
The official FIFA Fan Festival is at Centennial Olympic Park, a landmark space from the 1996 Olympics adjacent to downtown. Walking distance from the stadium and most downtown hotels. Live match broadcasts, food and entertainment throughout the tournament.
Atlanta's food scene is exceptional
Atlanta has a world-class food culture. Southern classics like fried chicken and biscuits at Busy Bee Cafe, international food along Buford Highway, and fine dining in Midtown. The BeltLine is lined with restaurants and food halls.
Skip the rental car
Downtown parking runs $45-60 per night and traffic on match days is severe. MARTA and rideshare cover everything you need. If you must drive, book parking in advance. Tip 18-20% at restaurants and bars.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is one of the world's busiest airports with direct flights from almost every major city. MARTA Red and Gold lines go directly from the airport to downtown in 25 minutes.

MARTA to GWCC/CNN Center or Vine City
Blue or Green line to GWCC/CNN Center station, short walk to stadium gates. Vine City station also within walking distance. Cheapest and most reliable option.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium is on the western edge of downtown. Most downtown hotels are within 15-20 minutes walk.
